Pepita Ferrari

Pepita Ferrari has worked in the film industry for over twenty-five years. Following a twelve-year career in animation, she has established a solid reputation as a writer, director and producer for documentary with her production company, Films Piché Ferrari which she co-founded in 1989. In 2008 she directed Capturing Reality: the Art of Documentary for the National Film Board of Canada for which she interviewed almost forty internationally renowned documentary directors. In addition to being an executive board member at both the National level and with the Quebec chapter of the Documentary Organization of Canada (DOC), Pepita devotes a lot of her energy to working with emerging filmmakers and is frequently in demand as a project analyst and jury member for various funding institutions and festivals. She has given workshops and master classes in South Africa and North America on a wide range of documentary related topics. Her articles on documentary filmmaking appear regularly in POV magazine, a Canadian quarterly publication devoted to the art and business of documentaries and film culture.
